Such a flavorful sauce, and with no pine nuts! This Vegan Walnut Pesto Sauce is so delicious, you’re likely to skip the pasta all together and eat it right out of the food processor. The great thing about it, it’s so creamy and flavorful, no one will know it’s vegan. Takes about 5 minutes to prepare.
1/2 rounded cup walnuts
1-2 cups loosely packed fresh basil
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
4 medium cloves of garlic
1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
Sea salt to taste
Add walnuts, basil, garlic, nutritional yeast and sea salt to food processor. Close lid and slowly drizzle in olive oil through pour spout while pressing the pulse button. Process to a smooth consistency, scraping off sides with a spatula as needed. Spoon over favorite pasta and mix thoroughly.
Makes about 1 cup of vegan walnut pesto sauce.
